The Effect of Using Apu-Apu (Pistia Stratiotes) Meal to Substitute Basal Diets on The Increase of Linear Body Size and Weight Prediction of Pigs

The aimed of this study was to determine the effect of water lettuce flour (Pistia atratiotes) substitute diets on the increase of linear body and weight prediction. The animal used was Landrace crossbred pigs with an average of 48,17 kg (CV 15,27%). This study used a randomized block design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tried were R0 ration without water lettuce R1 apu-apu flour substitute 5% basal ration, R2 water lettuce flour substitute 10% basal ration and R3 water lettuce falour substitute 15% basal ration. The variable measured were the increase in body length, in chest circumference, in shoulder height and predict body weight. statistic analysis result showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0,05) on body length, shest circumference, shoulder height and body weight prediction. Thus it can be concluded that the effect of using water lettuce flour to substitute the basal ration of landrace cross breed pigs by up to 15% has not significant effect on body length, chest circumference, body height, body weight bias and new constants for landrace pigs.
