Effec of the Use of Sweet Potatos Leaves and Steam (Ipomoea batatas L.) on the Intake and Digestibility of Crude Fiber and Fat of Grower Pig

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of giving sweet potato leaves and stems (TDUJ) on the consumption and digestibility of crude fiber, crude lard, pork grower phase. Using 12 pigs, aged 3-4 months with an initial weight of 38-73 kg with an average of 55.5 kg (CV = 24.23%). The method used was a completely randomized design (RBD) which included 4 treatments which were repeated 3 times, namely R0: rations without TDUJ (control), R1: rations using 5% TDUJ, R2: rations using 10% TDUJ, R3: rations using 15% TDUJ . The variables tested were consumption and digestibility of crude fiber and crude fat. Based on the results of the study, giving sweet potato leaves and stems 10-15% had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the digestibility of crude fiber, consumption and digestibility of crude lard, but consumption of crude fiber increased in R2 and R3 (10-15% ). The conclusion of this study is that sweet potato leaf and stem meal can be used up to 15% in grower pigs in terms of crude fiber digestibility, consumption and crude fat digestibility.

Abstrak
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi efek pemberian daun dan batang ubi jalar (TDUJ) pada konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, lemak kasar babifase grower . Menggunakan12 ekor babi, berumur 3-4 bulan dengan BB awal 38-73 kg dengan rataan 55,5kg (CV=24,23%). Metode yang dugunakan adalah Rangcangan Acak lengkap (RAK) meliputi 4 perlakuan yang diulangi sebanyak 3 kali yakni R0: ransum tanpaTDUJ (kontrol), R1: ransum menggunakan 5% TDUJ, R2: ransum menggunakan 10% TDUJ, R3: ransum menggunakan 15% TDUJ. Variabel yang dicoba yaitu konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, lemak kasar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian daun dan batang ubi jalar 10-15% berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kecernaan serat kasar, konsumsi dan kecernaan lemak kasar babi, tetapi konsumsi serat kasar meningkat pada R2 dan R3 (10-15%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah tepung daun dan batang ubi jalar dapat digunakan sampai 15% pada babi grower dilihat dari kecernaan serat kasar, konsumsi dan kecernaan lemak kasar.
