Abstract

The problem of marketing a commodity, product or service becomes a determinant in maintaining the sustainability of a business. Therefore, a research was on the marketing of pig A study was carried out in center Kupang district, Kupang regency. The aims of the research were to: 1)  determine the price transmission and 2) performance of the pig market. The research method used was survey method. The data analysis used were:  Price Transmission Elasticity, farmer's share  and marketing margin. The research results showed that : 1) the price transmission on the two marketing channels is perfect. 2) the market performance in  channel I and II as follows: Farmer share were 84% and 86%, marketing margin were 15% and 14%, institutional cost share were 38% and 35%, and institutional profit share were  61% and 65%. So as  concluded that the marketing of beef cattle in Kupang Tengah District Kupang Regency competed perfectly within a short marketing channel.

ABSTRAK

            Permasalahan pemasaran suatu komoditas, produk atau jasa menjadi penentu dalam menjaga keberlangusngan suatu usaha. Oleh karna itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui:1)  transmisi harga dan 2) kinerja pasar babi potong. Lokasi adalah di  Kecamatan Kupang Tengah  Kabupaten Kupang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei. analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis : Elastisitas Transmisi Harga, farmer’s share dan marjin pemasaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa transmisi harga pada dua saluran pemasaran berlangsung sempurna. Kinerja pasar saluran I dan II ditunjukkan oleh: Farmer share sebesar 84% dan 86%; margin 16% dan 14%, share biaya lembaga 38% dan 35%, dan share keuntungan lembaga 61% dan 65%. Pemasaran ternak babi potong di Kecamatan Kupang Tengah bersaing sempurna dengan bentuk saluran pemasaran yang pendek.
