Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Buah Saboak dan Feses Ayam Terhadap Tingkah Laku Makan Kambing Kacang

Effect Of Feeding Palm Fruit Extract And Chicken Manure On Feeding Beahavior Of Kacang Goats

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak buah saboak dan feses ayam terhadap tingkah laku makan ternak kambing kacang. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RBSL) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat periode pengambilan data sebagai ulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah  BP = hay rumput Botrichloa pertusa 40% + Lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 30%; BPS = hay rumput Botrichloa pertusa 40% + Lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 20% + buah saboak 10%; BPFA = hay rumput Botrichloa pertusa 40% + Lamtoro 30% +  konsentrat 20% + feses ayam 10%; dan BPSFA = hay rumput Botrichloa pertusa 40% + Lamtoro 30% +  konsentrat 20% + buah saboak 5% + feses ayam 5%. Parameter yang diukur terdiri dari frekuensi dan lama makan, frekuensi dan lama ruminasi, serta frekuensi dan lama istirahat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak buah saboak dan feses ayam berpengaruh tidak nyata ( P>0,05) terhadap lama dan frekuensi makan, lama  dan frekuensi ruminasi, serta lama dan frekuensi istirahat kambing kacang. Disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak buah saboak dan feses ayam dapat diberikan dalam ransum sebanyak 10% dari total ransum tanpa mempengaruhi tingkah laku makan kambing kacang.

This study aimed to determine the effect of feeding saboak fruit extract and chicken manure on the eating behavior of the Kacang goats. This study used a Latin square design (RBSL) with four treatments and four periods of data collection as replications. The four treatments were BP = Botrichloa pertusa hay 40% + leucaena 30% +  concentrate 30%, BPS = Botrichloa pertusa hay 40% + leucaena 30% +  concentrate 20% + 10% saboak fruit , BPFA = Botrichloa pertusa hay 40% + leucaena 30% +  concentrate 20% + 10% chicken feces, and BPSFA = Botrichloa pertusa hay 40% + leucaena 30% +  concentrate 20% + 5% saboak fruit + 5% chicken feces. The parameters measured consisted of the eating frequency and duration, the frequency and duration of rumination as well as the frequency and length of rest. The results showed that the feeding saboak fruit extract and chicken feces had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the duration and frequency of feeding, duration and frequency of rumination as well as duration and frequency of resting period of Kacang goats. It was concluded that the extract of saboak fruit and chicken feces could be given as much as 10% of the total ration without affecting the eating behavior of the Kacang goats.
