Peran Meo Anunu Dalam Upacara Hanik Ume Le’u Di Wilayah Bikomi Timor Tengah Utara

The purpose of this study was to determine the process of carrying out the hanik ume le’u (custom home cooling) ceremony in the Bikomi region North Central Timor, the role of meo anunu in the hanik ume le’u ceremony in the Bikomi region North Central Timor and the values contained in the hanik ume le’u ceremony in the Bikomi region North Central Timor. The type of research used is qualitative research with a symbolic interaction approach. The location in this study was in Banain A village, North Bikomi District. Informant determination technique is carried out by means of Snowball Sampling, where the researcher determines one key informant to be interviewed. Data sources used in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interview and participant observation. Data analysis techniques in this study are based on interactive data analysis steps according to Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification (taking conclusion). The results show that (1) the hanik ume le’u ceremony has stages in the implementation process, namely (a) the initial stage of the hanik ume le’u ceremony is to hold a meeting to determine the time for the execution and the materials the must be prepared before the hanik ume le’u ceremony, (b) the implementation stage, at the stage of carrying out this ceremony the meo anunu will dream (nam’ne) and be possessed by the spirits of the ancestors (maunu le’u) to get definite clue about the right time to cut and pick up ni monef, looking for traditional medicine (malo) and the core ceremony is the hanik ume le’u ceremony, (c) the final stage in the hanik ume le’u ceremony is peo lole which is carried out as a thank you to all the people who attend and help in the implementation of the hanik ume le’u. (2) the role of meo anunu in the hanik ume le’u ceremony is to look for ni monef and take traditional medicine (malo) from efficacious plants from long ago. (3) the values contained in the hanik ume le’u ceremony, namely brotherhood values, religious values and mutual cooperation values.
