Pemanfaatan Teknologi Silase dan Ammoniasi untuk Meningkatkan Produksi Ternak Ruminansia di Kelompok Tani Maju Bersama, Kelurahan Naioni, Kota Kupang

The present extension service was conducted in “maju bersama†farm group in Naioni village, Kupang city, East Nusa Tenggara to desiminate both knowledge and technologies to farmers as producers. This technical advice was aimed to increase knowledge and siklls of farmers in utilizing the abundance forages during wet season and processing it in both silage and amonniated feed and fed to the animals in dry season where feed is limited. The extension service was run in several stages including sosialisation, materials preparation, technical advice and evaluation. This program has created positive changes of the capability and skills of farmers in utilising and processing the forages as high quality feed. However, the ongoing mentoring is essentially needed to help farmers to increase their capacities and consequently will improve animal productivity in East Nusa Tenggara province.

Abstrak
Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di kelompok tani “maju bersamaâ€, Kelurahan Naioni Kota Kupang dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani peternak dalam pengolahan pakan ternak sebagai upaya untuk memperpanjang masa simpan sekaligus menigkatkan kualitas pakan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan termasuk sosialisasi, persiapan materi pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pelatihan ini telah merubah dan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani peternak dalam memanfaatkan hijauan pakan yang tersedia pada musim hujan dan diolah dalam bentuk silase dan amoniasi. Namun demikian, pendampingan yang berkelanjutan akan sangat membantu petani peternak dalam peningkatan kapasitas mereka yang berakibat pada peningkatan produktivitas ternak di daerah NTT.
